Making More Money During the Recession

There has been a significant change in the economy, which means that you need to also make a change in your business

People are fearful, apprehensive, stressed and uncertain. They have no control over the economy, but you do have focus on some things in your life. And one of those things is how you react personally and professionally to the economic fracture.

Many businesses attempt to retreat during an economic downturn, ye this can be the worse possible response.

Economic data from previous recessions show that the duration averages 11 months. The learning from this is that if you retrench your business too much, you will be behind those competitors who react more positively to the recession and may be worse off than anticipated.

You must focus on continuing to advance your financial position. Form the stock market history we have seen many 'major shifts' and adjustments. Many people still made money during the tech boom and the dotcom bust.

When the stock market is going up some people make millions of dollars and some lose millions of dollars.

When the stock market goes down, some people make millions of dollars and some lose millions of dollars.

The only difference is that different people took different positions in the market. And that is the choice you have now. You have the choice to lose through the recession or you can position for improvement during the recession.

Don't retract your business, just change tactics. Spot opportuntiies and new leverage points to make more money from your existing markets. Find new ways your products solve new problems. Don't wait for stuff to happen to you, go out there and make it happen.

Stop focusing on what you cannot do, and start focusing on what you can do. Believe in the resources you have and what you can do with them. Find new ways of being, doing and having more. Seize the moment and don't distracted by what you cannot control.
