Cleaning Up Your Credit Report

96.7% of credit reports contain errors and around a third of those damage your credit score to such a degree that you will likely be refused a loan.

There are many things you can do to massively increase your credit score in a relatively short period of time. For instance:

  1. You should check your credit score at least every 4 months. There are plenty of free credit score checking websites you can do this through.
  2. Check your credit history for mistakes, and get them corrected - in most countries, credit agencies have to provide you with free access to your credit information and are duty bound to correct mistakes
  3. Dont cancel a long term credit card - a large part of your credit score is related to how long you have held a credit card.
